This Privacy Policy explains how Lives ("the App") handles your information. The App is designed to work locally on your device, and the timeline entries you create are not stored on any external server operated by the developer.

• The timeline entries you create in the App are stored locally on your device.
• The App does not require an account or login.
• The App does not upload your timeline contents, birth date or reference date, or app settings to any external server operated by the developer.
• Payments for paid features (Lives Pro) are processed by the Apple App Store; the App never collects payment card details.
• The survey shown after a purchase is optional — only if you submit it, your response and email address (if entered) are delivered to the developer.
• The App uses Firebase Analytics for basic usage flow and quality improvement.
• The App does not sell personal information and does not use your data for third-party advertising or tracking.

The App may store the following information locally on your device:

• Timeline entries you create and their associated dates
• Your birth date or reference date setting used for timeline display
• App settings such as language and display preferences
• Local backups or CSV data when you use the import or export features

This information stays on your device unless you export it, delete it, or remove the App. The developer does not operate any server that receives or stores your timeline contents.

The App offers paid features (Lives Pro) through a yearly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase.

• All payments are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
• The developer never accesses or collects payment card details or other payment method information.
• The App checks transaction and subscription status information provided by Apple on your device to unlock paid features, restore purchases, and verify subscription status.
• Refunds, subscription cancellation, and payment method management follow Apple's policies and procedures.

After a purchase is completed, the App shows a short optional survey.

• What is collected: a free-form response (optional), an email address (optional), and the type of product purchased.
• To whom: only if you tap submit, your input is delivered to the developer. A third-party service is used for delivery (see Third-Party Services below).
• Purpose: understanding why users purchase in order to improve the App, sending occasional updates, and replying to feedback.
• The survey is entirely optional. If you skip it, nothing is sent.
• Your email address is never used for any purpose other than those above, and is never sold or shared with third parties.
• Submitted responses and email addresses are kept only as long as needed for these purposes, and are deleted promptly upon request via the contact below.

The App uses Firebase Analytics to confirm that the App works as intended and to improve the user experience.

Analytics events may include information such as:

​

• App launch or foregrounding
• Timeline display mode changes
• Whether an entry was started or completed
• The length of entry text — never the actual entry content
• Whether an entry refers to the past, today, or the future, and the number of days from today
• Time spent at a given timeline level
• Onboarding completion
• Gesture conflicts or save failure events
• Whether a second or later timeline (record set) was created
• Paywall views and dismissals, including the entry point and viewing duration
• Purchase and restore completion, including the product ID, price, and currency
• Whether the post-purchase survey was submitted or skipped (only whether an email was provided and the response length)

The App never sends your timeline entry contents, timeline (record set) names, birth date or reference date, survey response text, or email address in analytics events.

Firebase or Apple may process technical information such as app version, device and OS information, language or region settings, app instance identifiers, crash logs, and diagnostics. This information is used for analytics, app improvement, debugging, and service stability.

The App does not intentionally collect:

• Account registration information
• Your name, phone number, or contact list
• Your email address — except when you enter and submit it yourself in the post-purchase survey
• Payment card details or other payment method information; payments are handled by the Apple App Store
• Precise location
• Photos, microphone, camera, or contacts
• The actual contents of your timeline entries or exported CSV files, unless you share them outside the App yourself

The App uses the following third-party or platform services:

• Firebase Analytics, provided by Google: for app usage analytics
• Apple App Store and StoreKit: for in-app purchase processing, purchase restoration, and subscription management
• Discord: as the delivery channel for post-purchase survey responses, only when you submit the survey
• Apple TestFlight and App Store services: for beta distribution, crash reports, diagnostics, and tester feedback

These services may process data under their own privacy policies and terms. The developer uses them solely for operating, testing, analyzing, and improving the App.

The developer does not sell your data. The developer does not share the timeline entries stored locally on your device with any third party.

The limited analytics and diagnostics described above may be processed by Firebase/Google and Apple, and post-purchase survey responses you submit yourself are delivered to the developer via Discord.

App data stored locally on your device remains there until you delete it, export it, or remove the App.

Analytics and diagnostics processed by Firebase/Google or Apple are retained according to those services' policies and settings. Because the App does not require an account, the developer may be unable to identify analytics records tied to a specific individual user.

Survey responses and email addresses submitted through the post-purchase survey are retained only as long as needed for the stated purposes, and are deleted promptly upon request via the contact below.

The App is not directed at children under 13. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This Privacy Policy may be updated as needed. If there are significant changes, the updated policy will be posted at the same URL with a new "Last updated" date.
